Northwich town centre is distinctive with its black and white timber framed building, and home to the THUNDERSPRINT, one of the biggesting biking events in the North West.
At the Salt Museum the history of an industry that is unique to Cheshire is brought to life, from Roman times to the present, through a combination of models, audio-visuals and reconstructions.
Close by is the also the ANDERTON BOAT LIFT, known as the Cathedral of the Canals.
Northwich is easily accessible from Warrington and Congleton. If you are travelling via the M6, take Junction 19 at Knutsford.
From Warrington, take the A49 to the M56. Take the A559 through Lower Stretton and continue past the turn off for Great Budworth, then turn off onto the B5075 which will take you directly into Northwich.
From Congleton, take the A54 to Holmes Chapel, turning onto the A50. After a few miles, turn onto the B5082 through Cranage. Continue until you reach the A556, at the first roundabout take the A530 into Northwich.
From the M6 - Junction 19, take the A556 towards Northwich and turn onto the A559 at Lostock Gralam which will take you directly into Northwich.
