Alderley Edge is surrounded by beautiful countryside and the legendary wooded escarpment from which it takes its name, the village centre is home to a number of speciality food shops, restaurants, clothes shops and stylish bars.
The surrounding area is the ideal place for walking and cycling, with the Cheshire Cycleway passing nearby. The Edge itself, with its legends, old mines and panoramic views, makes an interesting visit.
Alderley Edge is easily accessible from Buxton and Crewe. If you are travelling via the M6, take Junction 19 via Knutsford. From the M56, take Junction 6 via Manchester Airport.
From Buxton, take the tha A53 out towards Leek turning onto the A54 at Ladmanlow. Continue on the A54 onto the A537 past the Cat & Fiddle. At Macclesfield take the B5087 which takes you directly to Alderley Edge.
From Crewe, take the A534 towards Sandbach, turning onto the A5022 after crossing the M6. Then turn onto the A50 towards Holmes Chapel, taking the A535 through Chelford to Alderley Edge.
From the M6 - Junction 19, take the A556 towards Northwich and turn onto the A5033 to Knutsford. Once in Knutsford, take the A50 and turn onto the A537 after the Railway Station, take the third left onto the B5085 and continue to Alderley Edge.
