Max Biaggi is the new 2010 World SBK champion
27th September 2010
Max Biaggi became the 2010 World SBK champion at the end of a difficult and exciting weekend of racing at the Imola track, where Leon Halsam was still pushing until his machanical problems in the second race.
Max Biaggi took four consecutive world championships, from 1994 to 1997 in the 250 class, and now becomes the first Italian World Superbike champion in 2010.
The manufacturer standings is close with Aprilia on 433 points and is 41 points ahead of Ducati with 392, so nine points in the French Races will be enough for the Veneto-based team to take the manufacturer championship.
