Anson Engine Museum used to be one of Cheshire's best kept secrets. Nestled away down the back lanes near Poynton, this unusual and fascinating museum has undergone some majar changes, and is now recognised as one of Cheshire's, and the United Kingdom's leading Specialsit Museums.
If you like engines, you won't find a collection bigger than the award winning collection of over 200 gas and oil engines at Anson Engine Musuem. It is the result of Les Cawley and Geoff Challinor's years of hard work collecting and restoring engines many in good running order, and you can join one of the tours and see some running as they used too. Ranging from early Crossley gas engines to the more modern diesels, its a great day out for all.
Anson Engine Museum also have a Demonstration of rural crafts on a monthly basis where the volunteers can be seen working at the forge and on wood turning machinery (bodging). Please check for dates.
